Ali Mazloum, P.Eng.

Bio

I am a project manager at PCL Construction in Halifax, working on institutional and commercial buildings. I am a licensed professional engineer in Nova Scotia and Alberta, a P.E. in Texas, a PMP and a LEED AP BD+C.

Before Canada, I spent thirteen years in Qatar on airport, waterfront and oil and gas projects, starting as a field engineer and ending as an E&I project manager. My first site was in Jeddah in 2005. From 2021 to 2024 I managed building projects for the Government of Nova Scotia.

In my own time I build free electrical calculators and write notes from the field. You can reach me at Info@alimazloum.com or on LinkedIn.

I grew up in Baalbek, Lebanon, and studied engineering for five years at the Lebanese University in Beirut. My first site was in Jeddah in 2005, as an engineer in training with SETRA.

In 2007 I moved to Doha. I was the electrical engineer on Porto Arabia at The Pearl-Qatar, a $331.5M waterfront contract, and then a field engineer on the CP60 utility plants at New Doha International Airport, 105.5 MW of installed capacity. From 2012 to 2020 I worked in oil and gas with Black Cat, rising to E&I project manager.

In 2020 I moved to Canada. From 2021 to 2024 I managed building projects for the Government of Nova Scotia: schools, hospitals and museums, including a period as acting manager in 2023. Since 2024 I have been a project manager at PCL Construction in Halifax.
